Day 1 & 2 – Wednesday/Thursday
HOTEL WILDEN MANN, LUCERNE

The Hotel Wilden Mann is centrally located by Lake Lucerne, just 600 metres (8 min) walk from the Railway Station and 3 minutes from the famous wooden bridge (Kapellbrücke). With 500 years of history, the hotel is rich in stories ….. in 1517 when the Wilden Mann was first mentioned in records, it was certainly not a refined place. In fact it was a bar without a tavern licence. Later it became an inn. Those were stormy times too, so it was not until the 19th century with the rise of tourism, that the Wilden Mann was transformed into a first-class address. Countless conversions, expansions and renovations were carried out and the Wilden Mann gradually became what it is today. You can learn more about this fascinating hotel during your stay.
The hotel offers: A sun terrace, two restaurants, room service, 24-hour front desk, currency exchange, ticket & concierge service, luggage storage, laundry & ironing service, shoeshine, fax/photocopying, newspapers, safety deposit box, lift, heating, non-smoking throughout. Room facilities include en-suite; FREE wifi; TV; seating area; bottle of mineral water; complimentary tea & coffee facility on the 2nd floor to help yourself.

Burgerstube Restaurant serves home-style cooking in an inviting, low-key setting. Serving just the right dishes to match local, traditional, home-style fare. Here you will experience Lucerne at its most authentic – the way our ancestors knew it.

Sauvage Restaurant this gourmet restaurant has a heart and soul to indulge, enthuse & enjoy. The name says it all with its traditional French-Mediterranean-style cuisine. Using fresh ingredients and lots of passion, guests truly savour the food and feast to their hearts’ content. In an elegant setting with a feel-good atmosphere, a cordial service and generously spaced tables. The Sauvage richly deserves its 14 Gault Millau points as you can enjoy gourmet classics if you wish – flambéed at the table in true style You’ll be surprised! Dinner & Breakfast (0630 to 1000) is served in one of the restaurants to be confirmed on arrival. Dinner will be served in the hotel on our first evening.

Day 3, 4 and 5 – Friday, Saturday & Sunday
HOTEL INTERNATIONAL AU LAC
Overlooking the lakefront promenade, this stately 1906 hotel is a 10-minute walk from the Renaissance-style Cathedral di San Lorenzo and a 13-minute walk from Lugano train station. Steeped in tradition, the International au Lac has been in family hands since 1906 and is the only lakeshore hotel in the historic centre of Lugano to have its own parking garage, garden and swimming pool. It had the honorary title “Historic Hotel” bestowed on it by UNESCO in 2007 and is now a listed building. As an historical hotel of national importance, it counts among the most exclusive establishments in the elegant town and now has an exhibition documenting a success story that has endured for more than 100 years.

Although it has consistently modernized in line with the changing needs of its guests, it has forfeited none of its old world charm.
All 76 individually decorated rooms offer en suite facilities, toiletries, AC, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, premium bedding, hair dryer, coffee & tea making facilities and room service.

Some of these unique rooms have balconies with lake and mountain views. Suites add sitting areas and “starry sky” bathroom lighting.
An elegant bar features a balcony with lake views. There’s also a restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, ping-pong table and a giant chess set, as well as a game room with foosball.

Day 6 & 7 – Monday/Tuesday
WALDHAUS HOTEL, SILS MARIA, ST MORITZ
The Waldhaus is grand, but also playful and relaxed. Vibrantly alive and comfortably old-fashioned behind the imposing facade; determined by the diverse people and generations who have relaxed and worked here.
Taking history into the future, the Waldhaus is owned and operated by the same family since the early 1900s. Grand but friendly and relaxed – peaceful, family-oriented and intimate. Splendid views of gleaming lakes and impressive mountains: the Waldhaus Sils sits above peaceful Sils Maria like a fairy-tale castle. Family owned and managed for five generations, it still radiates the grandeur of an earlier age. The Waldhaus was a founding member of Swiss Historic Hotels in 2004.

An architectural landmark with a proud history, with a 5*  ranking, 140 rooms, 230 beds and a staff of 145, this is the very idea of a grand hotel. The Waldhaus in Sils Maria, St Moritz was built in 1908, an imposing hotel-castle in the forest above the village. The experienced hoteliers Josef and Amalie Giger-Nigg found an attentive planner and site manager in the person of the young, energetic architect Karl Koller (1873–1946). With meticulous care and vast expertise, the builder-owners and the architect jointly decided on everything, down to the last detail, from the splendid hillside location to the optimal floor plans to the size and form of the silverware. As you cross the threshold to this legendary hotel, you are following in the footsteps of many guests for whom the Waldhaus and its surroundings have always meant pleasure and tranquility. Continuing their tradition, the fifth generation now personally welcomes their guests.

Hotel facilities include140 rooms, indoor pool, sauna, fitness room, free Wifi, terrace amid the larch forest (in summer), à la carte restaurant, lounge, bar, smokers lounge, library, small hotel museum, shuttle bus to the cable cars, free ride on all the Upper Engadine cable cars and even the motorboat on Lake Sils in summer and free travel by bus throughout the region, even as far as Soglio and over the Italian border to Chiavenna (summer and winter). The Arvenstube Restaurant serves gourmet cuisine and features a romantic terrace in the park.

The rooms have old fashioned high ceilings and big double glazed windows and every room has a unique view, be it of the lake or mountain and be it north, south, east or west. There are views of Lakes Sils and Silvaplana and the fascinating valley of Fez. Free internet access is provided in the non-smoking rooms, plus minibar, Radio, Telephone & TV.
