Wednesday 30 August 2017

Please join us for an exclusive summer Away-Day in our beautiful capital, and experience the very best of ‘elegant’ British culture & cuisine! Treat yourself or someone special to this fantastic day in London – making memories to last a lifetime!

Our day begins with complimentary ‘posh’ breakfast treats aboard our luxury coach en route to London. We will take you straight to the heart of London dropping off near the Palace in Buckingham Palace Road, just in time for lunch, where you will find plenty of eateries, or why not push he boat out and take a ‘picnic’ to eat in Green Park!

This is your chance to have a superb day out in London with a tour of Buckingham Palace Staterooms. Her Majesty is the first monarch in history to celebrate her 65th Jubilee. It is also her 70th Wedding Anniversary year! You will  be able to see a very special 2017 exhibition of ‘Royal Gifts’ presented to the Queen during her reign, from heads of state all over the world.

You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a sumptuous Afternoon Tea in the elegant Palm Court restaurant at the RITZ, or in the elegant Ritz Restaurant for Dinner (TWO dinner places now available!).
As Afternoon Tea & Dinner places have sold so quickly at the Ritz, tables for an equally famous Afternoon Tea have been booked just down the road, at Browns Hotel.

Afternoon Tea at The Ritz
The finest cuisine is served in one of the world’s most beautiful dining rooms and Afternoon Tea is enjoyed at the 5* Hotel that has for over a century, hosted royalty and discerning guests. With the addition of a resident pianist to set the mood, Afternoon Tea will be a delight. You will be served a choice of tea, copious amounts of delicious fresh sandwiches, pastries and the lightest scones you have ever tasted, by immaculately dressed, friendly waiters. Guests of the Ritz never leave hungry, as the Afternoon Tea is continuously replenished at no additional charge. You could be really extravagant and add a glass of Reserve Ritz champagne for just £16!.

Dinner at The Ritz
Dinner will be a delicious 3-course affair, with a glass of excellent white or red wine included. The Ritz Restaurant is a magnificent bastion of the culture of classical service and a dining room of unadulterated opulence, created in reverence to haute cuisine. The Ritz Restaurant is considered by many to be the most beautiful dining room in the world and features towering marble columns, soaring floor to ceiling windows, vast kaleidoscopic ceiling frescoes, gilded neoclassical statues and a spectacular garland chandelier that envelops diners within a halo of light. I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed, as clients who joined us at the Ritz for lunch last year, are now joining us for dinner this year!

Afternoon Tea at Browns Hotel
The English Tea Room at the famous Browns Hotel serves one of the most famous Afternoon Teas in London and was awarded a Highly Commended certificate at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2016 in recognition of their outstanding quality. The sophisticated and stylish interior is a clever mix of both tradition – thanks to the original wood panelling, fire places and Jacobean detailed plaster ceiling and contemporary style, with Paul Smith lighting, fashionable fabrics and original artworks.
Relax to the sounds from the Baby Grand Piano and indulge in a choice of 17 teas, including Brown’s own blend, along with a selection of succulent finger sandwiches, an assortment of delicate pastries, fruit and plain scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserve, as well as a choice of freshly baked cakes from the trolley. Guests of The English Tea Room never leave hungry, as the Afternoon Tea is continuously replenished at no additional charge.
Brown’s Hotel has a fascinating history and has hosted many distinguished guests since it opened as London’s first ever hotel in 1837. It is from here that Rudyard Kipling penned many of his novels and it is believed that The English Tea Room was the inspiration for Agatha Christie’s ‘At Bertram’s Hotel’. To this day this glamorous, five-star establishment welcomes guests ‘in-the-know’.

If Afternoon Tea or Dinner at the Ritz is not your thing and you would prefer to choose your own restaurant, or go sightseeing in the Piccadilly/Knightsbridge area, please see the itinerary for details!

For the perfect end to a perfect day, a complimentary glass of wine & nibbles will be served during your journey home.

As we will eating in the main tea room and restaurant in each hotel, availability for Afternoon Tea and Dinner places is very limited. You are therefore advised to book as soon as possible!

NB. In 2017 Buckingham Palace is only open from 05 August until 24 September

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

We so enjoyed ourselves on Tuesday Lin, and it was a “mystery” right up until 3pm – well done. I’m so glad I found Solent Events. It’s so much more fun going with other like-minded people & takes the responsibility out of driving.
