CANCELLATION: ONE LOWER DECK CABIN (Cabin 14)NOW AVAILABLE! After our fantastic small ship cruise in September 2015, Solent Events on Tour have now chartered the WHOLE SHIP for September 2017! The itinerary is different for 2017, exploring islands and cities not previously visited, ideal if you enjoyed the cruise so much that you would love to join us again. We will fly into Split, but also cruise into Dubrovnik and take the cable car for spectacular views over the city. The MS President is a small deluxe cruising ship, but seems more like like a private gin-palace – and Solent Events on Tour has chartered the WHOLE ship! This beautifully designed ship is just 47-metres long and boasts 20 twin/double bedded, en-suite air-conditioned cabins accommodating just 38 guests. It also has a restaurant/bar/lounge area, two sun decks, a plunge pool and a mini-gym. The ship is so small and intimate, only 7 excellent Croatian crew are required to run it with efficiency and professionalism. The food is excellent and freshly cooked each day by the talented chef. The ship’s unique design is ideal for coastal cruising through the islands, mooring overnight in small ports and anchoring in tiny bays for swimming and exploring. With perhaps a slightly higher price tag than some large ship cruises, it’s an ideal retreat for the 50+ age group who want to just totally ‘relax’ We will sail past secret coves, red-roofed villages and ancient olive groves on this exciting but relaxing island-hopping cruise around the spectacular Dalmatian Islands. Along the way, we discover chic towns, sparkling waterfalls and secluded beaches. We will also swim and snorkel right off the back of the ship whilst anchored in spectacular, warm bays …… or if swimming is not your thing, the crew will jet you off on the ship’s ‘zodiac’ to explore remote parts of the spectacular islands – or just take in the rays on board! We will also sample delicious local wine & cuisine on board and ashore and stroll the narrow historic streets of Split & Dubrovnik. Idyllic!. Ultimately, June and September are the ideal months to visit without being overrun by the growing number tourists. The impressive ports, villages and towns we visited in early September 2015 were not at all crowded. For 8 days, you can enjoy a hassle-free, idyllic, relaxing holiday with spectacular scenery, delicious local food and wonderful company – what more would you need! Delicious 3-course meals and buffet lunches are cooked & prepared on board and served in the restaurant and on deck, but we also have time to sample the local cuisine during our visits to the beautiful islands. This luxury cruising holiday is personally escorted from start to finish by Lin and sold out very quickly, with just ONE cancelled cabin now available! If you are interested, please contact us as soon as possible to book this last cabin!

DAY 2 Sunday 10 September – Korcola For a small country Croatia produces a huge amount of olives, and the families of your captain and crew grow them in their home village. On your way to the island we include an on board tasting of their home-grown olive oil while they explain the process. After lunch on board we arrive in Korcula, reputed to be the birthplace of famous adventurer Marco Polo, for an included walking tour. You’ll stroll the island’s atmospheric streets which are watched over by the majestic St Mark’s Cathedral, before enjoying free time. Why not find your seat in one of the excellent café-bars and savour a glass of the locally produced wine, or perhaps head to one of the lovely beaches. This evening, we offer an optional excursion to Zrnovo, where you can enjoy a guided walk through this typical Dalmatian village before being served a meal of local delicacies including moonshine aperitifs, macaroni and traditional croissants.
DAY 3 Monday 11 September – Ston Sail towards Slano, a picturesque coastal town from where a short bus ride will take you to Ston. Head out on a boat with a local fisherman to learn about the oyster farms the area is famous for. Later, take your seat in a restaurant overlooking the turquoise waters of the bay to taste these delicacies, accompanied by Croatian wine. After lunch, enjoy a guided tour of the salt mine for which the town is also famed and discover the second longest stone wall in Europe. Transfer to Dubrovnik. Dinner served on board ship.
DAY 4 Tuesday 12 September – Dubrovnik Today you’ll enjoy a guided walking tour of Dubrovnik. Capture incredible photographs as you take the cable car from the Old Town to Srd Hill, which offers spectacular views over the city. This afternoon you can seek out a peaceful spot for lunch, admire the views out to sea from the ancient ramparts and wander along the famous Stradun (promenade) to the former Rector’s Palace, which is now a museum, and the Franciscan Monastery, which houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe. A memorable evening on board with a special Captain’s Dinner.
DAY 5 Wednesday 13 September – Mijet Carpeted in dense forest, picture-perfect Mljet is one of the most attractive of all the Adriatic islands. Enjoy lunch on board before stepping ashore to explore its impressive national park. Glorious saltwater lakes and lush scenery give way to intriguing architecture, which comes in the form of a Franciscan monastery and a charming church. Perhaps rent a bicycle to discover more of the island, before enjoying dinner in one of the delightful restaurants on the seafront.
DAY 6 Thursday 14 September – Hvar/Solta Today your ship arrives in one of Croatia’s most fashionable resorts, Hvar. Make sure you are on deck as the ship approaches the island – the views from the sea are stunning. You’ll step ashore in the main town, also called Hvar, where a guided tour will show you the key sights, including the striking Renaissance cathedral and Europe’s oldest community theatre. Hvar offers an abundance of restaurants and cafés overlooking the sparkling waters of the harbour, and you’ll have time to enjoy lunch and soak up the bustling atmosphere. Next you’ll head to the peaceful island of Solta, stepping ashore in Stomorska – a lovely fishing village famed for its fleet of old wooden ships, once used to transport the island’s wine and olive oil to the mainland. Soak up the authentic Croatian atmosphere, mingle with the locals and discover the beautiful beaches. Dinner on board.
DAY 7 Friday 15 September – Split Enjoy a coffee in one of Stomorska’s cafés before we depart for Split, Croatia’s second largest city. A guided walking tour will introduce you to the UNESCO-listed town, including the famous Diocletian’s Palace which lies at its heart. One of the world’s most impressive Roman monuments, the palace houses an assortment of bars, restaurants and shops within its old walls – a captivating collision of ancient history and buzzing modern life. Visit a market selling fresh produce before enjoying free time for lunch. Back on board you’ll experience a farewell ‘Croatian Heritage’ evening with live entertainment performed by local musicians. Taste Dalmatian specialities, including ‘soparnik’ – a savoury pie – and ‘pašticada’, which is a stewed beef dish.

1550 After breakfast it’s time to disembark MS President and transfer to Split airport for the flight home after a wonderfully, relaxing and wonderful holiday!
