During this spectacular River Cruise in Southern Spain, we will travel to the heart of Andalusia and Portuguese Algarve. Along the Guadalquivir we wil discover the town of Cordoba, which combines perfectly history and modernity. A visit to Seville and its Alcázar palace, with an astonishing mix of architectural styles will make memories to last a lifetime. Then be carried away by the sublime city of Granada which offers a multitude of magnificent sites to visit and you will be completely in awe by the beauty of its spectacular cathedral which houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

A light & bright riverboat providing 88 cabins to host a max of 176 passengers, the La Belle de Cadix, comparable to a 4* hotel, is the only Croisi ship that combines a river-maritime route. It boasts a distinctive and elegant design,  mixing the classic with the modern.  Add to this the wide variety of facilities, such as the appealing sundeck, (perfect for morning coffees), or the cozy dining room (to enjoy delicous French delicacies) and your holiday is complete.

We love Family Run businesses and Croisi Europe is no exception! A family business, fiercely proud of its continued independence, has held its position for three generations. Nowadays, the Company is known throughout the world from its home port: Strasbourg, where it was founded in 1976, more than 40 years ago. We have wonderful memories of our Portuguese Douro River Cruise in September 2021, so we know we are going to  be well looked after and with EVERYTHING included onboard – All meals & drinks with meals and at the bar (except for drinks from the ‘special list’); all excursions (The Classic Package); Refined French cuisine; Gala dinner evening; Welcome cocktail; Onboard activities; Free Wi-Fi; port fees PLUS flights; all transport; airport lounge; Travel Treats  & Solent Events escort.

CroisiEurope, the leader in European river cruises, welcomes nearly 200,000 passengers aboard its 50 standard and premium boats that crisscross the rivers of Europe and the World every year., including Russia, Mekong, Birmania, Africa, South America and United States. The company also offers cruises on seas, like the Mediterranean Sea, the Baltic Sea, the Black sea. You will not be disappointed if you love ‘class’ and ‘comfort’, which lies not only in the elegance, refinement and harmony of the living environment on board, but also in the cuisine, which pays homage to French gastronomy with a great chef who runs the kitchens throughout the fleet.

Our Andalusian River cruise glides along the river from Seville to the coast at El Puerto de Santa Maria, Jerez, Cadiz, Alcoutim & Huelva and back to Seville, over 8-days /7-nights with exciting excursions and cultural visits enabling us to fully explore the area. Our Croisi Europe Premium Class Ship – MS La Belle de Cadix, carries a maximum of  176 passengers in 88 cabins spread across the Main, Middle and Upper Decks.

Whilst Croisi Europe is a French cruise line there will probably be passengers from all over Europe and far away shores such as  Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Brazil, with an excellent crew looking after everyone with impeccable service.

The La Belle de Cadix is a modern ship (renovated in 2010) and comparable to a 4* hotel.
The Main Deck accommodates the restaurant, where all meals are be served during the cruise. The atmosphere is casual but elegant.
The lounge and bar are located on the Middle Deck at the front of the ship, offering panoramic views. Games, dancing, and other forms of entertainment all happen here.
The Sun Deck has a shaded area and is furnished with chairs and deckchairs, and provides great views as well as the opportunity to relax.
The Pianorama Bar is located on the Upper Deck at the rear of the ship, ideal to visit for either an aperitif before dinner or a nightcap afterwards.
Wines, beer, mixer drinks and the daily cocktails are complimentary throughout the day. You will find that the cuisine on board is the consistently high standard of a top city restaurant, with evening menu themed to the local area. Entertainment can be enjoyed each evening.

Friday 13 September
Day 2
Today, join us on an optional excursion: Guided tour of Córdoba and its Mosque-Cathedral. Transfer by coach from Seville to Cordoba (driving time is approximately 2 hours as a round trip, but we will see the full flavour of Andalusia and some wonderful countryside!). Cordoba’s golden era started in the 8th century when it was conquered by the Moors who built about 300 mosques and countless palaces. In the 13th century, under the reign of Fernando III the Saint, the Great Mosque
of Cordoba was transformed into a cathedral and new defensive structures were built, namely the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Calahorra Tower. After lunch in a restaurant, enjoy a free afternoon in the city. You will later return by coach back to the ship.

Saturday 14 September
Tour of Seville and discovery of the Alcazar and the cathedral. We’ll leave by coach for Seville. We’ll start off our visit with the azulejos that adorn the Plaza de España before we move on to the Santa Cruz district. Sheltered behind the former perimeter wall, what used to be the Jewish district belongs to the historic heart of the city and is surrounded by the most famous buildings of the Andalusian capital. Afterwards, we’ll discover the Alcazar, one of the oldest Royal Palaces in Europe. The visit will end with Seville’s cathedral, providing one of the last testimonies to the Gothic style. This structure was built over the ruins of an Almohad mosque as a symbol of the capital’s prosperous status of great commercial town after the Reconquista. Afterwards, we’ll return on board and start cruising towards El Puerto de Santa Maria(2). Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

Sunday 15 September
This morning, we go to a horse show and wine tasting in a bodega. We’ll first enjoy a panoramic tour of the city. Located next to the coastline, Jerez is an opulent and lively community that has prospered through its winemaking. Horse riding and flamenco remain long-standing traditions. We’ll visit a stud farm that raises magnificent Andalusian horses, and we’ll enjoy a presentation of the equestrian arts the country is famous for. We will finish with a wine tasting in a bodega.
We’ll then cruise to Cadiz. In the afternoon, join us to visit Cádiz and its cathedral. We’ll leave by coach on a panoramic tour of Cádiz and you’ll be able to bathe in the cultural and historic riches of the city, as well as its long stretches of unspoiled beaches. The old centre brings together the most characteristic areas of the city, including beautiful baroque churches and elegant mansions, many of which are adorned with façades painted in glorious pastel colors and decked out with ironwork balconies. We’ll visit the cathedral, a magnificent Baroque and Neoclassic building, but tonight, we can enjoy a Flamenco evening!
We’ll depart on foot from the ship to enjoy a cante flamenco evenig. Flamenco  is an art created by the Gypsy and Andalusian peoples based on popular folklore born from the various cultures which flourished throughout the centuries in Spain. Immerse yourself in the most famous Spanish tradition

Monday 16 September
We’ll cruise along the Guadiana towards Alcoutim. Just after you rise, you will have reached the Guadiana River, where another scene is waiting for you. The river remains rather wild, with just a few hamlets found here and there as the only evidence of humankind. The water’s gentle curves and calming landscape are a haven of peace and tranquility. You will arrive in Alcoutim by mid-morning. Set among the beautiful green hills, the town is a hidden treasure in the region. Take a long stroll through the cobblestone streets and absorb the picture-perfect atmosphere. Enjoy some free time before returning to the ship. We’ll begin cruising to Huelva, arriving in the evening. We’ll enjoy dinner and an evening of onboard entertainment.

Tuesday 17 September
In the morning we will visit The Wharf of the Caravels by coach for a guided visit of the Gothic-Mudéjar Franciscan monastery that was built between the 14th and 15th centuries. Christopher Columbus stayed here while preparing his departure for the New World. A fresco by Daniel Vázquez Díaz, created in 1930, illustrates the sailor’s saga and reminds us of his historic role. Throughout the centuries, the monastery has grown and expanded. We will then head to the Wharf of the Caravels, where the great explorer set out on August 3, 1492. Life-size replicas of the famous Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria ships await you. Our ship will then cruise to Seville. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

Wednesday 18 September
We have a whole-day in Granada today, our last included excursion of the cruise. Travelling to Granada by coach, the driving time is approximately 3 hours for the round trip. Upon arrival, you will
begin the tour at the ‘Alhambra’, one of the major monuments of Islamic architecture and the most majestic mediaeval fortress in the Mediterranean. You will have seen this very special iconic building on many travel programmes. It is definitely not to be missed!   The tour continues with a visit to the Generalife, which was the summer residence of the Nasrid Emirs, and its marvelous 14th-century gardens. Transfer to a downtown restaurant for lunch. Aftwerwards, take advantage of a free afternoon to visit the Albayzin district which offers a magnificent view of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada.
