ESCAPE TO THE ISLE OF MAN

Monday 01 May 2023 - 5-days | 4-nights
Rich in history, The Isle of Man is the only nation in the world to be recognised as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
THIS TOUR IS NOW SOLD OUT!

We all need a Spring Break, so let’s escape to the The Isle of Man. Even though we’ll be leaving early for our outbound journey (because of the silly ferry time!), you’ll be back in plenty of time to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on 6th & 7th May!

The Island is a self-governing British Crown Dependency – as are Jersey and Guernsey in the Channel Islands – with its own parliament, government and laws. The Isle of Man is not, and never has been, part of the United Kingdom, nor is it part of the EU. Although it is not represented at Westminster or in Brussels, we will not need passports to enter.

When melting glaciers caused sea levels to rise around 85,000 years ago, cutting off Mesolithic Britain from mainland Europe, another island formed in the Irish Sea, between the two islands of Great Britain and Ireland.

This is your chance to experience this small picturesque British island, known for its rugged coastline, medieval castles and rural landscape, rising to a mountainous centre. You are welcome to discover its extraordinary story with us!

Located in the heart of the Irish Sea, we  will hop on an Isle of Man Steam Packet Co. ferry from Heysham to Douglas.   We will arrive at an Island rich in extraordinary nature, with an ancient and compelling history and a uniquely vibrant culture.

In the capital, Douglas, the Manx Museum traces the island’s Celtic and Viking heritage, where the Isle of Man TT is a major annual cross-country motorcycle race around the island.

We will be staying at the impressive Ramsay Park Hotel, Ramsay. This luxurious, contemporary hotel is located in one of the most scenic parts of the Isle of Man. Situated beside Mooragh Lake, with views over the sea towards Cumbria, Ramsey Park makes a stunning setting for our stay on the Island.

The Hotel is also adjacent to Moorage Promenade where the famous Ramsey Sprint takes place during the Isle of Man TT week (at the end of May), giving unrivalled views of where all the action is happening in Ramsey!

The Ramsey Park Hotel has 60 en-suite bedrooms, including 3 interconnecting double bedrooms, 2 spacious Family Suites and an Executive Suite.

All have been individually designed to a very high standard, with ensuite bathrooms, super king-sized beds (double or a twin beds), easy chairs & coffee table, flat-screen 32″ TV with UK Freeview, complimentary high-speed WI-FI, Iron & Ironing Board, Hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities, complimentary toiletries.

The Lake View Restaurant serves full bistro-style lunches and dinners, featuring homemade, simple, seasonal food using fresh, local Manx produce, freshly prepared in the kitchen. Snacks are available in the Piano Bar. On warmer days guests make the most of the Terrace with stunning lake views.

A variety of included excursions will be offered each day to ensure you enjoy as much as possible of the island during our 5-day stay, including the steam, electric & mountain railways, local museums, the Laxey Wheel, guided tours and surprises galore!

So, if the Isle of Man has always been on your bucket list (outside of the TT season!), why not join us on this new Solent Events adventure for 2023! Whether you are a solo traveller, a couple or with friends, we promise great company, great food and a wonderful change of scenery – what more could one want?! All YOU have to do is PACK!

For your peace of mind and financial protection, our 6-day tour has been arranged  in conjunction with our preferred Tour operator, Success Tours, who are fully bonded.

THE JOURNEY to the Isle of Man is longer than we would normally travel in one day, but there are a limited number of ferries from the mainland and flying to the Isle of Man from London was not a popular option for the majority of our clients!
Rest assured,  Solent Events coach journeys are always great FUN! With plenty to occupy the time – from background music, music & paper quizzes & easy crosswords to quiet times for a snooze or a chat. There will be plenty to eat & drink with our hostess service too!

These are the FINAL timings and will be stated in your Travel Pack, either sent by post or delivered locally by hand, approximately 10-12 days before departure.
