Day 1    Monday 21 June 2021                ZURICH/BERN

                 Enjoy the comfort of an airport lounge for breakfast and relaxation 
0840         Direct flight from UK to Zurich with Swiss Air (TBC)
Upon arrival in Zurich, we will travel by 1st class Swiss Rail to our hotel in Bern. 
After check-in we will discover more about Bern with a guided walking tour of Bern including Zytglogge (The landmark medieval tower built in the early 13th century serving the city as a guard tower, prison, clock tower and the centre of urban life – a civic memorial). Dinner with Lin or taken at leisure.

Day 2      Tuesday 22 June                       EMMENTAL

This morning we enjoy a trip to the Emmental region to learn about the famous local cheese. A cheese fondue lunch will be served after the visit and our coach will drive us back to Bern for an afternoon at leisure. We will travel by train from Bern to Hasle-Rüegsau, then take a local bus to Affoltern, Dorf. After the visit and lunch we make our way back by bus and train to Bern. Dinner tonight is at the Kornhauskeller, a local restaurant. Next morning, our luggage will be taken from hotel to our next destination (Zermatt) separately -1 piece per person.

Day 3      Wednesday 23 June                THUN/ZERMATT

After breakfast we make our way to the station and a train to Thun, where we enjoy a guided walking tour of the city. The historic Old Town is situated about one kilometre from the shore of the lake, on the river Aare. There is a castle in the centre of the Old Town that dates back to the 12th century and boasts an interesting museum. We will have time at leisure for lunch in Thun before taking the scenic route by train to Zermatt. Dinner in the hotel tonight.

Day 4      Thursday 24 June              ZERMATT/GORNERGRAT
Butterfly Hotel, Zermatt                                                               B, D 
This morning we will take the open-air cogwheel train from Zermatt to the Gornergrat for time to enjoy and admire the wonderful views of the valley and of the Mighty Matterhorn, probably the most famous mountain in Switzerland. The £85(!) return train ticket up to The Matterhorn is included. After returning to Zermatt, the rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore this lovely car-free town at your own pace. Dinner tonight will be in the hotel.  
Next morning our luggage will be taken from hotel to our next destination (Lausanne) separately -1 piece per person.

Day 5       Friday 25 June         LAUSANNE

This morning we take a train to Lausanne where we have time at leisure for lunch and in the afternoon, a visit the Olympic Museum. The idea of a museum dedicated to appreciating the Olympic idea goes back to Pierre de Coubertin, who revived the Olympic Games and founded the International Olympic Committee. This must-see Olympic Museum, which was opened in 1993 in Ouchy, Lausanne, reflects the spirit of the sports games which bring nations together. Relive great Olympic moments. Feel the pulse of the champions. This fantastic Museum has 3000 m2 of exhibition space, with over 1500 exhibits, 150 screens combining to create the ultimate experience and some great stories! Dinner tonight will be in the hotel.

Day 6         Saturday 26 June  LAUSANNE/MONTREUX

After breakfast we take a train to Montreux where we have time to visit at our own pace and have lunch. You will probably want to visit the Queen studio located in the famous casino by the lake. The studio was dedicated to the British rock group Queen as they made recordings in the studio from 1978 to 1995. The museum was opened December 2, 2013 by band member Brian May.
During our time in Montreux we will also visit Chillon castle by boat or train with a guided tour and wine tasting. The castle, surrounded by water, is the most visited historic building in Switzerland. For nearly four centuries Chillon was the residence and profitable toll station of the Counts of Savoy.  Our wonderful day ends when we return to Lausanne by boat. Dinner at leisure.

Day 7         Sunday 27 June       LAUSANNE/GLACIER 3000/GSTAAD

After breakfast a coach will take us to Col-du-Pillon – the valley station of the aerial cableway which will take us to the summit station Glacier 3000. After some time at leisure, our coach will drive us to Gstaad for some free time before we board the Golden Pass Panoramic train to Montreux and back by coach to Lausanne. Our last dinner in Switzerland will be taken in the hotel. Next morning our luggage will be taken from the hotel to Geneva airport separately -1 piece per person.

Day 8           Monday 28 June          GENEVA/UK                  B
Today we will travel back to the UK via train to Geneva and flight to the UK 
1550              Swiss Air flight to London Heathrow 
1635              Arrive LHR
