We LOVE a mystery? Do YOU?

IF SO, PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR FINAL MYSTERY TOUR OF 2019. We know you will love just it!
All the details you need to know are on the itinerary below! Sorry, but I cannot tell you any more than that, except the booking form is below it! ……….

June 2019 – OUR SUMMER MYSTERY TOUR certainly had the WOW factor once again! No-one actually guessed that we were visiting the eccentric Lowsley-Williams family at the medieval Manor House of Chavenage, Beverstoke, near Tetbury (well, not until we were almost there that is – and Julie had been there before!). Chavenage House has been owned by only two families since being built in 1576. It is is constructed of Cotswold stone, with a Cotswold stone tiled roof. Chavenage is a Grade I listed building and although is the home of father David Lowsley-Williams, wife Rona, son George, daughters Caroline & Joanne. Having inherited the House from his uncle in 1958, David & his family have lived there ever since. The house and estate are lovingly cared for by the family and the public are invited to visit at certain times of the week for an amusing tour of the history of Chavenage. Many films have also been filmed in the house and on the estate, with POLDARK being the most recent. After coffee & biscuits, the group split in two, for hilarious guided tours by Caroline and George, whilst Joanne was buy preparing our 2-course lunch in the kitchens. It was a wonderful experience, but it was not the end of our Mystery Tour! Onwards to BATH, a popular guess on previous Mystery Tours, to pick up our tour guide, Nick, finishing the coach and walking tour at the famous Sally Lunn’s Tea Rooms for their enormous, light as a feather, Bath Bunnes!

March 2019 – The weather was very kind to us as we travelled to Henley-on-Thames for homemade shortbread & coffee aboard the Waterman for a sun-drenched cruise up the river. This was followed by a guided coach tour through pretty villages and the Chiltern Hills, following the MIDSOMER MURDERS Trail at Dorchester-on-Thames, Wilborough, Nettlebed, Ewelme and Wallingford. A delicious lunch was served at The White Hart in the pretty village of Dorchester and a Solent Events cream tea on the coach at Henley!

October 2018 We saw the start of some fantastic Autumn colour along the A272 whilst munching on our complimentary breakfast treats and our journey to Heaven Farm on the Sheffield Park Estate. Here we met our lovely Blue Badge, guide, Liz. for coffee and biscuits, before surprising everyone with a nostalgic trip from Sheffield Park to East Grinstead on the famous Bluebell Railway. East Grinstead is the most delightful town with a lot more character than the name suggests! We were then served with a delicious 2-course lunch with wine and coffee at the olde worlde Old Dunning Mill nearby. After more guided touring and some great stories from Liz, our final surprise took us to the historic Hever Castle, which was a real treat for many who had this castle on their wish list.
For the perfect end to another perfect day, a cream tea was served during our scenic journey home. Congratulations to Privilege Club Member Julienne Almond who guessed that we might be going to Hever Castle!

May  2018 The Jurassic Coast of Dorset – Poole, Swanage Ferry, Swanage, Langton Travers for a delicious carvery lunch, Corfe Castle, Etches Fossil Collection, Moreton, Lawrence of Arabia grave & The Walled Garden for Afternoon Tea.
Congratulations to long standing Privilege club member, Chris Irving, who guessed Corfe Castle correctly in our fun ‘Where are we Going’? Quiz, winning gifts and a £20 voucher.

Jun 2017 The South Downs, North Downs and Steyning were certainly highlights of this sunny day in Sussex, with guided visits to Shipley Windmill & church, lunch in Bramber and ending up at the Sussex Prairie Secret Gardens for Afternoon Tea on their first opening day of the summer. With breakfast treats, morning coffee, a 2-course carvery lunch, afternoon tea and a blue badge guide telling all about the area, it certainly was a wonderful day to put in our memory bank!

May 2016 – We followed the footsteps of the Downton Abbey TV locations, enjoyed a delicious Carvery Lunch, toured the beautiful countryside and ended our exciting day with a river boat cruise & Afternoon Tea in Oxford. Just wonderful

May 2015 – Tours around Bibery, Broadway, Cheltenham/Toddington. Our first stop for coffee and to meet our guide, Lee, was at The Swan in Bibery, with a lovely walk along the river, an ice cream by the bridge and a view of the famous ‘yellow car’ parked outside the beautiful cottages by the river. Lunch was at the famous Meg Rivers Café in Broadway, before embarking on a rather nostalgic steam train journey from Cheltenham with a delicious Cream Tea on board.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

We so enjoyed ourselves on Tuesday Lin, and it was a “mystery” right up until 3pm – well done. I’m so glad I found Solent Events. It’s so much more fun going with other like-minded people & takes the responsibility out of driving.

Hi Lin, Just a quick thank you from us both for arranging such a brilliant day yesterday. We had such a lovely time and the hi-light for us was the steam train trip! Looking forward to the next Mystery Tour
