The biggest & most spectacular
Hindu Temple outside India!

Something completely different for Spring in 2018!

If you have not had the chance to go to INDIA, but love architecture …… and are fascinated by Hinduism and their the traditional places of  worship, this is absolutely ideal Away-Day for you!

The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir (Temple) in Neasden was built by Pramukh Swami, a 92-year-old Indian sadhu (holy man), and is made of 2,828 tonnes of Bulgarian limestone and 2,000 tonnes of Italian marble, which was first shipped to India to be carved by a team of 1,526 sculptors. The temple cost £12 million to build and was designed and constructed entirely according to ancient Vedic architectural texts – using no structural steel whatsoever.

The Mandir is a humble tribute to the inexpressible beauty, majesty and glory of the Divine.  Learn about the exquisite art and architecture, and how they are offered in adoration, reverence, and gratitude. Learn about how mandirs originated and developed into the elaborate buildings of today. Underlying them is the ancient discipline of sacred architecture called Vastu Shastra.

We will have a guided tour of the temple including Darshan (viewing of the sacred images), have the opportunity to visit the ‘Understanding Hinduism Exhibition’, earm about the history of the Mandir (as above), attend the morning Arti Ceremony and enjoy a delicious Buffet Lunch in the temple’s Shayona Restaurant.

Learn about Diwali, one of the most important and colourful festivals of the Hindu calendar. It is a time when charity, goodwill, family values and the love of God are celebrated and reinforced. Diwali thus celebrates the triumph of good over evil and is a reminder to dispel inner darkness with the light of God’s presence. BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, London hosts the largest Diwali and Hindu New Year celebrations in the country. Open to one and all, the celebrations are an opportunity for the whole family to enjoy the traditions, colours and rich culture of the Hindu faith.

We were on tour in India during Diwali and it was the most wonderful experience ever. Being surrounded by millions of ‘marigolds’ wherever we went was particularly memorable!

So don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to visit & understand Hinduism whilst visiting this beautiful temple …… and you don’t even have to go to India!

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

We so enjoyed ourselves on Tuesday Lin, and it was a “mystery” right up until 3pm – well done. I’m so glad I found Solent Events. It’s so much more fun going with other like-minded people & takes the responsibility out of driving.
