The Mill was delighted to announce that The Mill at Sonning re-opened their much missed theatre on 30 October 2020 for a Winter Season of Comedy, Magic, Cabarets, small shows and talks … and will be opening again after Lockdown 2 in early December.
Places are limited, so please do not miss the only chance you may have, to celebrate Christmas with friends, in a wonderful atmospheric theatre!
Please join us for a festive gala of seasonal songs, from old-age standards including Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas and Frosty The Snowman to contemporary hits such as Merry Christmas Everybody and Mistletoe and Wine and a few surprises from well-known musicals!
Two West End stars front a live band of four leading musicians under the musical direction of Toby Cruse.
Tickets include our socially distanced Luxury coach travel; a delicious 2-Course Lunch with a Christmas Menu including appetiser; seasonal treats and Lin, your Solent Events escort.
We will be given a designated arrival time to allow for a safe entrance to The Mill, therefore you will be notified of our FINAL departure times on the reminder postcard sent out by post approximately 5-7 days before 20th December.
Please remember that you will be required to wear a face mask or visor when entering and moving within the building.
You will also need to wear your face covering in the theatre, but of course you will be allowed to remove your face covering when safely seated at your ‘restaurant’ table.
The team at The Mill have been working hard to ensure that all measures have been put in place to make our visit as safe as possible. The restaurant has been open for a few months so you may like to read some comments from happy customers:
‘If you’re worried about going out to somewhere safe, where every COVID-19 precaution is properly in place, The Mill at Sonning is it’!
‘We felt well looked after and safe throughout our visit’
The management and patrons of The Mill would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and kindness during the last 6 months. It was very challenging, as many of you have also found, especially with businesses. The forthcoming months will be bumpy but The Mill can offer us the delight and exhilaration that only LIVE theatre can bring …. and all in a safe environment.
Please remember that you will be required to wear a face mask or visor when entering and moving within the building. You will also need to wear your face-mask or face-covering in the theatre, but will be allowed to remove it when safely seated at your restaurant table.
I think we are all used to this by now and it has actually become ‘a way of life’!
You definitely don’t want to miss the chance of visiting Solent Events’ favourite small theatre in the country, situated right next to George Clooney’s house on the Thames at Sonning Eye. George and his wife Amal are patrons of the theatre and have hugely supported them in the past few months and they are often seen in the audience at the Mill.
As we can currently only accommodate 37 on our 53-seater luxury coach and the theatre is limited to just 70 guests, be sure to book your place as soon as possible.
On arrival, we will be dropped off in the car park, right in front of the theatre – so there is very little walking!
A delicious appetiser, 2-course meal and tea and coffee will be served at your table in the restaurant on the first floor, where the theatre is also situated. (NB. a small lift is available on request – if required).
