Like a thriller? Then you’ll LOVE this!
We started visiting this delightful theatre many years ago with a ‘thriller’ and we have continued alongside wonderful musical celebrations and dramas since.
There’s no better way to spend a February Saturday afternoon than at the theatre with a classic thriller – writer Ira Levin has never failed to keep audiences on the edge of their seats!
Sidney Bruhl, a once-successful playwright now struggling for a hit, has invited the younger and aspiring writer, Clifford Andersen, to his home to discuss Clifford’s brilliant new play. However, as the night unfolds, it becomes clear that things are not as they seem. As the tension builds and dark secrets are revealed, Sidney and Clifford become embroiled in a deadly game of cat and mouse.
With unexpected plot twists, clever dialogue, and plenty of suspense, DEATHTRAP is a thrilling theatrical experience that will leave you guessing until the end.
IRA LEVIN is recognised as one of the most accomplished writers of supense and horror fiction of all time. His most popular novels include Rosemary’s Baby, The Stepford Wives, and The Boys from Brazil, all of which, alongside Death Trap, were adapted into successful films.
The Mill is excited to welcome back director TAM WILLIAMS who has delighted Mill audiences recently with productions of Still Life, Hay Fever, Blithe Spirit, Hound of the Baskervilles and the upcoming Twelfth Night, performing in August 2023 .
As usual, a delicious two-course lunch with tea/coffee is included and served before the show.
If you have never experienced intimate setting of The Mill at Sonning, you’re in for a pleasant surprise! It’s Solent Events’ favourite dinner theatre, located in a tranquil position in the countryside beside the Thames at Sonning Eye, adjacent to George Clooney’s house. George and his wife Amal are patrons of the theatre and have hugely supported them in the past two years and are often seen in the audience at the Mill. We’re sure you will be equally as enthralled as we are, by this wonderful theatre with the very BEST seats for the very BEST view!
On arrival, we will be dropped off in the car park, right in front of the theatre – so there is very little walking – in fact, approximately 20 yards! A delicious 2-course hot & cold buffet meal with tea & coffee will be served in the restaurant on the first floor, where the theatre is also situated. (NB. if you find stairs a difficulty, a small lift is available on request).
