Broadlands is a beautiful, historic, unique English country house and estate located in the civil parish of Romsey Extra, near the town of Romsey in Hampshire’s Test Valley. The house and parkland sit at the heart of this agricultural, residential and commercial community making it a truly special place to host Park Proms 21.

The house is also the home of the Mountbatten family and is where Solent Events clients have in the past enjoyed concerts with Russell Watson and just last September,  John-Owen Jones of Les Miserables fame. The parkland also holds a herd of Red Sussex cattle, who call this wonderful Park Proms site, ‘home’!

The 78-piece Royal  Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will play a ‘Last night of the proms’ styled concert with a number of well-know classics along with pieces from some great films including Harry Potter, James Bond, Star Wars & Superman. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra (RPCO) is a dynamic and versatile ensemble which incorporates performances of a wide range of styles and genres across the UK and around the world. Solent Events clients just love listening to their music during our annual visit to the Royal Albert Hall for Classical Spectacular, so we know you’re in for a real treat! (See our Classical Spectacular 2021 page – 7th November – on sale NOW!)

Aled Jones became famous for the cover version of Walking in the Air, the song from Ch4 animated film The Snowman based on the book by Raymond Briggs. The record reached No. 5 in the UK charts in 1985. Since then, Aled has been a high profile radio/TV presenter, singer, winning many awards and producing albums featuring a range of uplifting hymns, texts and scriptures set to music, touching on a range of faiths and beliefs.

Laura Wright is a popular English Soprano who performs classical and operatic music,  musical theatre, popular and folk songs. Laura was born in Framlingham, Suffolk (the same market town as Ed Shearan!). She performed at the opening ceremony for Prince Harry’s inaugural Invictus Games. Laura was the first mezzo-soprano to perform at the Olympic Stadium, has toured with Alfie Boe and Russell Watson, opened the iTunes Festival for Andrea Bocelli and duetted with Donny Osmond for Children in Need. She was also involved in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, via her song ‘Stronger As One’.

Escala rose to fame when they entered Britain’s Got Talent where they reached the final in May 2008. After the show they signed a £1.5million contract with Simon Cowell and went on to release their album Escala in 2009. Victoria Lyon & Honor Watson on the violin, Stephanie Benedetti on the viola and Helen Nash on the cello.
