THANK YOU, Lin, for a lovely MYSTERY TOUR day out last Thursday in the most extraordinary weather!!! As you said, 4 seasons in one day. When we ended up in Reading I was a bit puzzled as to what we would do, but – as usual – it turned into a fascinating time. My daughter, Julie did an Archaeology degree at Reading University 40 years ago! She said they used to dig around the Abbey grounds then. Every question she asked me I could answer and even surprised her that Jane Austen went to school there at one point. And then .. she asked me did I know what happened to the sculptor of the lion and was amazed to learn that the story she – and every Reading resident has – was an urban myth. For once in my life, I got one over on her! Well done, our Graham, and thank you. A moment to treasure.

We agreed with you we saw no more of the gardens than we had seen before & perhaps the weather didn’t help, but it was an excellent day and thank you for all your hard work in organising the event.

It was a fantastic day! Thank you for making it so special for us all. It was truly memorable. Up there as one of the 'All Time Greats'! Congratulations on 30-years of Solent Events Lin! Beverly and I would like to say many thanks for taking all the hard work out of travelling - and also making it a real pleasure.
We just wanted to thank you for organising such a brilliant tour of India. Ray and I enjoyed it so much. We didn’t realise that India was such an interesting country. We initially wanted to see the Taj Mahal but there was so much more - forts, palaces, temples and the lovely friendly people. You organised rickshaw rides, tuk tuk, rides, tiger safaris (shame we didn’t see any tigers), Jeep rides etc. You worked so hard to ensure everything ran smoothly and we didn’t miss anything. This really was the holiday of a lifetime. We will never forget it. We were lucky to have met so many lovely friends. It was a lovely friendly group. Thank you for all your hard work. You did mention that the photos you took would be available on a memory stick. We would like to buy one when they are ready. Thanks once again and hope to see you again soon.
Thank you for a great tour of India and it was certainly a great experience. I am so pleased that we were able to see both the North and the South as they were very different. Dear Lin, before I came on a coach trip with you I went one to London with another coach firm. We spent nearly all morning picking people up and arrived at the show with barely enough time to grab a bite to eat. We then got bundled into the coach and spent a tedious amount of time dropping people off again with a snack stop at Guildford. I swore never to repeat the experience, but Judy so enjoyed the trip you arranged to Ascot, hence we came back to coach trips. But I will not do them with anyone else!

Oh, my, Lin, what a super morning visiting Chavenage House! Our tour guide, Caroline, was full of fascinating facts but, at the same time, had us in fits of laughter. Best guide ever. As I had never heard of the place, everything was a treat including the super lunch. Somebody surely should write a sitcom about this family and their wonderful home.The afternoon visit to Bath plus tea at Sally Lunn’s made it almost a treat too far, but I coped! Thank you.
I booked a day out on a chartered yacht last week, organised by Lin. We were fortunate to have good weather to sail to Cowes. We started the day with bacon rolls at Haslar Marina, then on arrival at Cowes, had lunch at the Sailing Club. There was just enough time to do a little shopping in the quaint high street, before returning to Haslar. We had canapies, fizz and cakes on the way back. It was a wonderful day out and I would thoroughly recommend it if one is offered next year. Thank you for a great day out on the Solent!
Hi Lin, just want to say what a great day it was yesterday on the mystery tour. The first stop at Chavenage was amazing and the daughter as a guide was so entertaining it made the tour even more special and the food was delicious. The trip to Bath was so unexpected and for me just like going home and remembering all the good time we had there as kids.it was magic.The icing on the cake was the cream tea at Sally Lunns what a way to end the day. All mystery tours have been amazing but this one for me beats all.Thanks once again! Hils x

Well….what a holiday! I very much enjoyed it and can see why you returned again this year. It was like going to stay with friends, the family were so welcoming. It was a good mix of things to do and I thought the cookery classes were good fun. I loved the party (every holiday should have one) and thought we had a nice group of people…..as Ulla said. The travelling went smoothly, especially with you booking the plane seats in advance. Am thinking about next year! Love Franki x

I saw Nutcracker a few years ago in Guildford with a Russian company, but you can’t beat the English National Ballet. Thanks for a lovely day out yesterday with NO RAIN! The English National Ballet NUTCRACKER was superb. I have seen a few productions, including the Royal Ballet, but this dancing was exquisite and the whole thing a total delight. Dear Lin, I have just enjoyed our recent holiday to the Western Isles and Scotland so much. Not knowing what to expect and then being completely blown away with the stunning scenery, it was just gorgeous. Well, everything was! I have now been on a lot of holidays and day trips with Lin and have never had anything to complain about. I have also made a lot of new friends. Our trip to PERU was out of this world. Nothing was left to chance and Lin ensured that we had a really good time, with plenty of things to see and do. Even if there was nothing planned, Lin always made sure we had something to keep us occupied. It is really great going on a holiday with Solent Events, wherever it may be. You know that you don’t have to think about anything but enjoying yourself …. as any problems are solved before you even know about them! If you are by yourself you are never alone – unless you want to be, as you are always made to feel part of the group.
